GParted is written in Linux, but can be used to manage Windows partitions by booting from a Live CD. Simply download the ISO file and burn it to a CD. You can read my previous post on how to burn an ISO file to CD. If you have a Mac, you can read my post on burning an ISO file using OS X. Using GParted to Manage Partitions. GParted for Mac can be used on x86 and x86-64 based computers running Mac OS X, Windows or Linux, by booting from media containing GParted Live. GParted for Mac is a great piece of software that everyone should have stashed away, just in case they have any issues with their hard disk. It is very easy to use and is really functional. On occasion you may need to partition your hard disk, perhaps to install a new operating system, but you need to be careful that you don't lose any of your files or damage your system. With GParted, you don't have to worry about that, since you can add partitions or modify the size of those that you already have without losing your information. The filesystem resize ability was long crufty and unmaintained in parted, which is why it was removed in the 3.0 release several years ago.If you update to the latest parted 3.2, it has a resizepart command that only resizes the partition, and you have to use another filesystem specific utility to resize the filesystem within the partition. In the case of ext234 that is resize2fs.

Description
GParted is a free, open source partition editor that will help you to manage your disk partitions using a powerful graphic interface.
You can use it to create, delete, resize, move, check, copy partitions without losing your data. Gparted is also an acronym for 'GNOME Partition Editor' (according to the project manager GNOME PARTition EDitor - you can also think of GParted as Graphical Partition Editor), and it is one of the default partition managers included in GNOME. Since it was designed to run from an external device and offers support to lots of different file systems, you can use it to perform multiple partition related tasks to various operating systems.
Note: We recommend you to check the FAQ section and its Help section. There is also a book on Amazon written by Curtis Gedak (project manager and main developer) which contains everything you need to know about GParted.
